½ | cup grated parmesan cheese |
½ | cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1½ | teaspoons chopped fresh parsley |
½ | teaspoon chopped fresh thyme |
½ | teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary |
16 | frozen dinner roll dough balls, thawed |
½ | cup butter melted |
Butter Candle | |
---|---|
1 | head garlic |
1 | tablespoon olive oil |
Pinch of salt | |
2 | sticks butter, softened |
1 | tablespoon chopped fresh herbs such as thyme, oregano, basil, or rosemary |
1 | (12 to 16-ounce) paper cup |
1 | food grade beeswax candle wick |
Directions
For the Pull-Aparts
In shallow bowl, combine bacon, parmesan, cheddar, parsley, thyme and rosemary.
Cut each roll in half. Dip each roll half in butter, then in bacon mixture.
Arrange rolls, cut side down, to form a thick circle on large baking sheet or pizza pan. Leave center empty for butter candle.
Cover with plastic wrap. Let rise 20 to 30 minutes. Remove wrap.
Heat oven to 350°F. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
For the Butter Candle
Heat oven to 400°F.
Slice ½-inch off top of garlic bulb. Place on sheet of foil. Drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt. Wrap in foil. Bake on baking sheet 45 to 50 minutes, or until very tender. Cool.
In mixing bowl, place butter. Squeeze garlic cloves out of skins into bowl of softened butter.
Add herbs . Mix until well combined.
Affix candle wick to bottom of paper cup.
Fill cup with softened butter mixture making sure wick remains centered. Refrigerate or freeze 2 hours or until firm.
Tear paper cup away from candle. Place in middle of Bacon Pull-Apart Bread on serving tray .
Trim wick if needed. Light candle. Allow butter to start melting. Dip pieces of bread into melted butter as candle burns.
