New Video Gives Props to Peanut Farmers

Austin, Minn.
7,000 peanut farmers in the United States produce nearly 3 million metric tons of peanuts every year, including to Hormel Foods.
“The peanut itself is organically one of the most sustainable crops from a domestic perspective,” said Sarah Johnson. As director of marketing for SKIPPY® peanut butter, she underscores the natural efficiency of peanuts in promoting environmental sustainability.
Sarah appears in the video, which talks about the land being the primary asset for farmers and why sustainability is so important. Sarah’s message in the video reassures consumers that SKIPPY® peanut butter is not only delicious but also produced with care for the environment.
Karla Thompson, vice president of Jet Farms, weighs in as well. “Peanut farmers grow our crops sustainably because that’s the way we continue to thrive in the future, and that’s the way that we can help our community, our own families and hopefully families all over the world to thrive as well.”
