Meet our Inspired Interns
-
Nicole Makope, corporate communications intern, Corporate Office (Austin, Minnesota)
Nicole spent her week putting together a photo shoot in which the content created will serve as a sample for a potential new social media strategy for the Skippy® brand.
“It was so fun working with other interns and being creative. I loved seeing a vision come together and seeing people have fun with this kind of work,” she said. Through this experience, Nicole has enjoyed seeing the potential Hormel Foods has on social media platforms, and she is excited to see what the company’s social media presence will look like in the future.
Fittingly, Nicole’s favorite Hormel Foods product is Skippy® P.B. Bites.

“It was cool to look into the planning and scheduling process of making those modifications,” she says.
Her favorite project this week was ensuring that valves on the machines connected to metal detectors meet company standards.
Emma’s favorite Hormel Foods product is Hormel® Black Label® jalapeno bacon.

Her favorite projects this week include working on her capstone presentation and sitting in on other Corn Nuts® brand meetings.
“It was so interesting to hear about each step of the process for creating a new line extension as well as the LTOs,” she says.

Lexi Soukup, internal audit intern, Corporate Office (Austin, Minnesota)
Lexi spent some time auditing the Beloit (Wisconsin) Plant, which produces Hormel® chili.
“It was a great opportunity to see the day-to-day functions of a plant and operations, and learn more about auditing processes in the plant,” she says.
At the plant, Lexi learned about fixed assets and maintenance inventory. Through these experiences, she was able to see the process of verifying locations, and she interacted with new people.
Lexi’s favorite Hormel Foods product is Skippy® P.B. Bites.
