New Campaign Celebrates Brand’s Commitment to Quality Ingredients

Southern California based LA VICTORIA® brand is helping refresh a California school’s garden! The initiative is part of a larger campaign that celebrates the brand’s commitment to using quality ingredients in their salsa by harvesting and bottling their tomatoes in just 24 hours. All California schools are invited to visit the brand’s newly designed website to apply for the opportunity to win a “Garden Makeover.” Applications are being accepted now through April 30, 2014.

For more than 90 years, the makers of LA VICTORIA® salsas have been using tomatoes harvested and grown in California’s Central Valley. The tomatoes are picked at the peak of ripeness and bottled within 24 hours. “We are proud to support the economic health of California farmers and their communities,” said Marty Wolesky, LA VICTORIA® senior brand manager at MegaMex Foods. “We want to continue our support by helping teach California students about the state’s rich agricultural heritage and the importance of growing and eating fresh vegetables in their own communities.”

The “Garden Makeover” initiative is part of a larger marketing campaign that highlights the brand’s promise to use only the freshest tomatoes in their salsas. The campaign’s messaging highlights their commitment to fresh vegetables and will be communicated via radio, print and digital ads as well as a Facebook promotion and newly designed website. The site contains information about LA VICTORIA® products and consumers can also find valuable tips on how to grow and eat fresh vegetables at home.

Schools within the state of California are invited to apply online to receive a “Garden Makeover” on their campus. Schools outside of the state can also visit the website for useful information on maintaining a successful school garden and links to resources about how to start their own school garden. In early May, one California school will be selected. The winning school will receive gardening tools & supplies, expert guidance on growing a successful garden, help with maintaining their garden through regular visits, learning materials and recipes using fresh vegetables, courtesy of celebrity chef, Jamie Gwen.
