Hormel Foods Donation Helps Fight Hunger in Rochelle

The Rochelle Area Community Foundation is also providing a $10,000 matching gift to the Rochelle Foods Hunger Challenge Fund. This donation is part of the Hormel Foods Plant Community Donations Program, which gives employees the opportunity to assist local hunger relief organizations and strengthen the communities where they live and work.

In 2011, the facility donated $5,000 to help establish the Rochelle Foods Hunger Challenge Fund with the Rochelle Area Community Foundation, a public charitable organization designed to attract and distribute gifts to benefit the community. The facility also donated $10,000 to the fund in 2012.

Their commitment to quality – day in and day out – help make it possible for our company to continue the Plant Community Donations Program,” said William H. Rice, plant manager, Rochelle Foods. “On behalf of our facility, I’m honored to present this donation to the Rochelle Foods Hunger Challenge Fund.”

For the third consecutive year, Hormel Foods is giving funds to U.S. manufacturing facilities to share with nonprofits in their respective communities to fight hunger. In 2012, Hormel Foods donated $220,000 to local hunger relief organizations in more than 20 communities where it has U.S. manufacturing facilities.

Craven, vice president of corporate communications at Hormel Foods. “We are committed to helping fight hunger in the areas where we live and work. It’s with great excitement that we continue the program throughout 2013.”

Hormel Foods is helping those in need both in the U.S. and internationally. Through its On Our Way to Ending Hunger program, the company collaborates with retailers, nonprofits and the government on hunger relief efforts; nourishes the hungry in the U.S. and abroad; and motivates individuals and corporate partners to take action to fight hunger.
