Winners of the 11th Annual Hormel Foods Holiday Card Contest
The winning artworks are being used as the 2017 holiday card images to send seasonal greetings to thousands of Hormel Foods customers and contacts. The artwork was selected by a panel of judges that included representatives of the Hormel Foods executive team.
The grand-prize winner of the contest is Whitney Walkup.
Whitney is a sophomore at Pacelli High School in Austin, Minn., and is the child of Feng Walkup, international sales and marketing manager for fresh meats, HFIC, and Mark Walkup, transportation supervisor at the Austin (Minn.) Plant. Whitney’s artwork, titled “Lights,” was designed using acrylic paint and canvas. In her free time, Whitney enjoys playing volleyball and softball, spending time with friends, playing piano and painting.
Adrianna is a junior at Austin High School in Austin, Minn., and is the child of Michelle Meiergerd and Alan Meiergerd, manager of pork processing for Refrigerated Foods operations at the Corporate Office (Austin, Minn.). Adrianna’s artwork, titled, “Holiday Greetings around the World,” was designed using watercolors and crayons. In her free time, Adrianna enjoys knitting and crocheting, playing tennis and singing in choir.
Jenna is a junior at Bryant High School in Bryant, Ark., and is the child of Lisa Vos and Roger Vos, plant manager of Skippy Foods (Little Rock, Ark.). Jenna’s artwork, titled “Happy Holly-days,” was designed using watercolors and a calligraphy pen. In her free time, Jenna enjoys reading, writing, photography and crafting.
