Hormel Supports Local Restaurants by Purchasing 300 Meals Each Day
KAAL
To help area foodservice businesses, Hormel is ordering approximately 300 lunches each weekday from local Austin restaurants. The meals have been purchased from 12 area eateries.
Initially, Hormel began the lunch program to support its hundreds of corporate office team members while keeping foodservice operators working. Now that a majority of their office staff is working remotely, Hormel is continuing the lunch program by donating most of the meals to area hunger-relief organizations and local first responders.
The lunch program is also taking place in other plant and office communities. The company’s Jennie-O team is purchasing meals from local businesses in its four plant locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
