Hormel Foods Announces Winners of 12th Annual Holiday Card Contest
Austin, Minn.
The winning artworks are being used as the 2018 holiday card images to send seasonal greetings to thousands of Hormel Foods customers and contacts. The artwork was selected by a panel of judges that included representatives of the Hormel Foods executive team.
The grand-prize winner of the contest is Greta Kosel.
Greta is a second grader in Austin, Minn., and is the daughter of Wendy Kosel and Daniel Kosel, chain accounts manager for foodservice at the Corporate Office (Austin, Minn.). Greta’s artwork, titled “Snowman at Night,” was designed using paint, oil, pastels and paper. In her free time, Greta enjoys craft projects, gymnastics and dance.
A runner-up is Anne Moellers.
Anne is a freshman in college from Little Rock, Ark., and is the daughter of Robert Moellers, manager of industrial engineering at Skippy Foods (Little Rock, Ark.), and Diane Moellers. Anne’s artwork, titled “Tinseled Trees,” was designed using black marker, watercolor and glitter glue. In her free time, Anne enjoys camping, playing piano and guitar, and playing basketball.
A runner-up is Caitlin Drees.
Caitlin is a ninth grader in Austin, Minn., and is the child of Peggy Drees and Neil Drees, manager of data center and computing platforms at the Corporate Office (Austin, Minn.). Caitlin’s artwork, titled “Snow Ball,” was designed using crayon, pencil, watercolor and acrylic paint. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys 4-H, art and crocheting.
A $500 donation is being made to a nonprofit organization in honor of Greta’s winning entry, and organizations named by the two runners up will each receive a $100 donation. These donations are sent directly to the organizations, which are typically schools, and are applied to the cost of art materials, art supplies or art education.
