Future Food Scarcities: Global Causes, Local Consequences Symposium Fall 2008

On October 23, 2008, Jeffrey M. Ettinger, chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Hormel Foods Corporation, presented at this symposium sponsored by the Food Industry Center and the Center for International Food and Agricultural Policy.  The symposium featured leaders from academia, food businesses, global lending agencies and food policy researchers.  The topic of discussion centered on the causes and consequences of rising food prices and their impact of food suppliers, food companies, consumption, health and public policy in the United States and around the globe.
