Bufalo® Products - Reach for the Richness

For more than 50 years, Bufalo® hot sauce has been the sauce you reach for to add rich flavor and a little kick to your meals. Today, more Americans than ever are counting on Bufalo® products to add zing and flavor to their dishes, without adding fat or calories. From the beginning, Bufalo® sauces have been produced in Mexico, from premium ingredients according to authentic, time-tested recipes.

In 1914, when Bufalo founders Hernandez Del Castillo and Hernandez Pons joined forces to sell their homemade sauces, things were done a little differently than what most manufacturers do now. Peppers were hand picked. Every batch was closely monitored and tested for quality, texture and taste. And both men refused to send out even a single bottle that didn’t live up to their standards.

Nothing’s Changed

Today, peppers are still picked by hand. And every batch of sauces made still gets all the loving attention it would have received back in 1914. The founders would be proud of the sauce we make today. And, we’re betting they would be pretty happy to see their name stamped on more than 42 different products.

Varieties Include:

  • Bufalo® hot sauce—The original. Rich, spicy flavor, with a nice kick
  • Bufalo® chipotle hot sauce—The smoky flavor of this chipotle sauce comes from the dried and smoked jalapeño peppers used to make it, perfectly accented by a special blend of spices
  • Bufalo® jalapeño hot sauce—Made with jalapeño peppers and a fiercely-guarded secret spice, jalapeño hot sauce gives you real jalapeño flavor and real jalapeño heat
  • Bufalo® salsa picante hot sauce—Using milder peppers called guajillos, picante offers a more balanced heat with a hint of lime. This is the traditional and most common style of hot sauce in Mexico
  • Bufalo® picante especial hot sauce—Also known as botanera, this hot sauce is great for snacks such as tortilla chips, potato chips, the popular chicarrones snack and fruit. The balanced heat and citrus and tamarind flavors make picante especial sauce stand out from the rest of the pack. Milder for everyday use
  • Bufalo® Salsa para Botanas--new!—Made from the Guajillo - one of the most commonly grown chiles in Mexico - and the Chile de Arbol - an intensely hot chile used in Mexican cooking. Primarily used to spice up chips or pork skins.
